Ministry Philosophy

Ministry, for me, is a sacred partnership grounded in love and mutual transformation. I see the congregation as a living ecosystem where each person’s gifts, struggles, and questions are honored.

I understand my role as minister is to:

  • Be a steadfast presence

  • Accompany people through life’s joys and sorrows

  • Inspire through worship that speaks to both head and heart

  • Nurture spiritual deepening

  • Foster intergenerational community

  • Engage in justice work that connects us to the wider world

  • Create a culture of honest conversations, risk-taking, learning and shared leadership where each one of us is transformed

  • Cultivate joy

As a minister, I believe my call is to do both — to pastor and to challenge. Pastoral care is vital because it builds trust and sustains people through the very real struggles of life. When a congregation knows that their minister will show up with compassion, they are more open to growth.

At the same time, our faith calls us into transformation, both personally and collectively. That requires challenge — prophetic truth-telling that stretches us beyond comfort and calls us toward justice and deeper spiritual maturity.

The art of ministry, I believe, is discerning which is needed in the moment. Sometimes people need to be held, and sometimes they need to be nudged. Through my ministry, I will strive to weave these together — offering comfort that strengthens people enough to be challenged, and challenge that is grounded in love and care.

Future Ministry: Interfaith work, community outreach and cross cultural collaboration will play a major role in my ministry. I have no doubt that my life experiences will continue to shape my ministry — whether it is in preaching, pastoral care, or justice work.

Guided by the ethos of our faith, I envision a church which is a hub for authentic expression, inclusivity, experimentation, and service. I want to show up equally when joy but also uncertainty abound. In the end, instead of simply contemplating the meaning of life, I will make my life meaningful — through service.
